Newborn & Infant Care

What Is Normal for a Newborn?

Bringing home a new baby can be exciting and overwhelming at first. You are still in the process of getting to know your baby and understanding the different types of behavior they exhibit. This information will help you develop realistic expectations and feel confident about caring for your new baby.

Immunizations

Immunizations have been one of the single greatest advances in preventative medicine. At Central Pediatric and Internal Medicine, we believe immunizations are an essential part of well-child care. We follow the standard Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines for immunizations for all of our patients.

Hygiene

Newborn hygiene care, including bathing, skincare and changing diapers, is important for your baby's health and comfort.

You may call for assistance whenever you feel concerned about your child’s health.

Our providers and nurses are available to answer questions, help you manage your child’s health issues and decide if an office visit is warranted. To make an appointment, we recommend you call in the morning if your child needs to be seen by a physician that day. However, if you need to bring your child in for a check-up or immunizations, you may call and schedule an appointment in advance.
